Still a great happy hour we love the vibe and the people that frequent there , unfortunately it's not a hidden gem anymore though. the masses have taken over! lol great martinis and the New bartenders are so nice now! sadly the chicken wing order which i loved has now shrunk to ridiculous tiny wings . baby wings!!! wth? steak is always good and cooked right !

I came here with a large party and I absolutely love the ambiance of the place. It was extremely busy but our male servers were extremely attentive, prompt and professionally dressed and extremely attractive. Yall did great job there! We had a pre fix menu and I selected the southwest salad, my entree was the grilled chicken with creamy poblano sauce and mashed potatoes. The chicken was so dry and mashed potatoes needed salt but nevertheless I still enjoyed the food! Also, the appetizers were the stars of the show!! I was blown away it was so so good. The fried mushrooms, goat cheese stuffed poblanos, warm rolls, shrimp cocktail and lamb chops covered in hot sauce with the blue cheese sauce was incredible! Finishing the meal with the brownie pie was the cherry on top! Great work ALC! Just work on a nice marinade for the chicken so it doesn't come out dry please. Can't wait to come back!

My review is perfect for anyone who seeks an intimate space with a limited number of friends to celebrate a particular milestone or event. Apart from a large dining room, they do have some areas set aside for privacy....but first.......This steakhouse is located right on Lamar Boulevard in a strip center just across from the tavern. It has literally been here for decades and is approaching 700 reviews. If you're coming here for drinks, the bar area is very small, cramped and loud. Now for the good news.... I came here with many of my coworkers for a special dinner. They do have a private dining room for such events which will hold up to 30 people. Since there was so many of us, they created a special menu for our group. The first thing that arrived were baskets of warm rolls and butter follwed by apps of shrimp and fried mushrooms which were exceptional. The salad was also fresh and everyone loved their filets and sides. The quality of the filet was tender enough to cut with a fork. Even the salmon was properly prepared for a steak house. The service was on point by experienced servers. The brownie pie dessert was served warm slowly melting the ice cream and the berries and cream were super fresh. In short, we had a fantastic evening of food and wine with perfect service. Check out the photos below, which will only have you making your reservation.

I bookmarked the place due to reciews/pics. We stopped here because it was close to our hotel. I'm very happy we did. We sat at the bar and the 2 servers were phenomenal! Nice and friendly and made great drinks helped our evening. We ordered a variety of items from apps to steaks. Everything was delicious! Prepared correctly and tasted hot and fresh. My steaks temp of medium rare was perfect. I would definitely recommend and would return if I am ever in Austin again.

Kaitlyn Texas onion pie ribeye charged for ice loud atmosphere Kaitlyn was a wonderful waitress. She was very attentive and was on her game. She recommended the onion pie. Was very impressed with flavor. Ordered a medium rare ribeye and it was perfect. Wonderful seasoned and cooked like I I like it. Only complaint was that I was charged for ice for my whiskey and the establishment was a little loud. When in Austin I will return.

I'd rather not share this place, but it is one of my favorite old spots in Austin. The bar area fills up quickly during happy hour so there will more than likely be a wait. It also gets very loud in the bar area from the chatter, but it's worthwhile to wait. There is outdoor seating available, if you prefer. The staff is terrific, friendly, attentive and knows how to make good cocktails. We typically get the filet and a loaded baked potato. I don't know what they do to their baked potatoes, but they are addicting. Also, their enhancement sauces are so good. The Gorgonzola butter is my go to every time. It's a great place for a date, a gathering, or just for good food and good drinks. Parking is a bit limited, but I usually am able to find a spot. If you haven't tried, you are missing out on a piece of old Austin.

Can't even count the number of times I've driven by this place without realizing what this building was! We came with some friends earlier this month on a random weekday, so can't speak to how busy it can get. Was surprised at how big this restaurant is for its location, and the low-lighting and ambience was top notch. Got the 16 oz ribeye along with the truffle mac and cheese. No regrets! Every single bite oozed with juicy perfection, I have no notes. Obviously a bit pricey, but the meal was worth it. Most definitely would recommend for a fancy evening, special occasion, or celebration. But I'd say this is more of a four-dollar-sign spot

Wanted to try a new steakhouse for dinner in Austin, found ALC on instagram and made reservations a month out. Food was great, restaurant was a little out of date. For what we paid would have liked a better dining area. Food and service was on point, which is why they get 5 stars. Worth a try!
